EARLE SCARFF  Position Profile

Earle Scarff has over 35 years developed a wealth of experience in most aspects of the law. He offers advice in the following areas:-

•Wills and will disputes and estate advice;
•Inheritance Act and will disputes;
•Commercial property disputes;
•Franchising;
•Guardianship and Administration Act – SAT advice and representation;
•Commercial contract negotiations;
•Buying and selling businesses;
•Establishing unit trusts, discretionary family trusts and partnerships and advice in disputes of the same;
•Supreme Court representation principally in contractual disputes.

KEVIN PRUNTY Position Profile

Kevin was born in Melbourne and obtained his law degree from Melbourne University.

The next three years were spent with the Crown Solicitors Office and Public Solicitors Office focusing on complex land problems and general civil law.

Two years was then spent in private practice by Kevin purchasing his own firm which grew as two other practices were taken over.

Kevin commenced practice in Western Australia in 1991 where his main areas of interest continued to be family law and criminal law. In 1992 Kevin contracted to analyse branch offices of a Perth firm prior to practising in Nedlands and Perth in the fields of family and criminal law.

In approximately 1995, Kevin commenced working in Mandurah and again, his areas of practice were and still are family and criminal law. Having known the other solicitors at Clement & Co for years, Kevin is very happy and pleased to be rejoining Clement & Co where he has had many enjoyable years working for and with Brett Clement.

Kevin believes that various areas of practice of the other lawyers will lead to a competent and friendly team at Clement & Co.

VICKIE SCARFF Position Profile

After 30 years in law, with over 25 years experience with one of Australia’s largest national law firms dealing principally with all aspects of property law and business law, Vickie can assist people with their legal problems that involve property.

In retail and commercial leasing Vickie has given lectures for the Law Society involving Continuing Professional Development of lawyers. Vickie has previously lectured in and co-ordinated the conveyancing course at the University of Western Australia.

Vickie has been involved in buying and selling small and multi-tenanted properties including Lakeside Joondalup and Whitford City, redevelopment projects for shopping centres and industrial/ commercial sites and varied retail and commercial leasing including for Carillon City and Perth Airport.

Vickie is looking forward to applying her experience in any aspect of buying, selling and leasing of property. Vickie also deals with sale and purchase of businesses and superannuation aspects associated with property.

Now that Vickie’s two girls have “finally” left home, she has had the opportunity of moving to Mandurah for work and is enjoying the lifestyle, including her failed attempts to reduce her golfing handicap!

MARLENE RUDLAND Position Profile

In 1996, Marlene joined Legal Aid as a bilingual paralegal to assist the Arabic speaking community with their legal issues. After her contract expired, she obtained further paralegal positions at Legal
Aid.

After 5 years Marlene transferred to the Assignments section of Legal Aid and the following 6 years assessed grants of Legal Aid for family and criminal law applications, acted as a co-ordinator assessing suitability of matters for alternate dispute conferences.

Whilst working full time at Legal Aid Marlene obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Justice Studies. She then completed her Law degree. Marlene also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree.

Marlene has now been a solicitor for 2 years in Mandurah and her interests are in family law and criminal law.

She has extensive hands on practical experience in all aspects of family law with particular emphasis and interest in children’s matters.

Marlene offers advice and representation in:-

•Family law (including):-
Children’s matters;
Property settlements;
Care and protection orders;
Defacto law;
Alternate dispute resolution.
•Criminal law (including):-
Representation in court on all traffic matters;
Violence restraining orders; and
Minor criminal matters.

CHRIS RAPHAEL Position Profile

Chris Raphael came to law from a background in transport and business administration. After 20 years of working in the private sector and obtaining a business degree, he found he developed an interest in the law.

After obtaining his law degree from Murdoch University, he practised in the city for a number of years working in a variety of fields and then decided his interest was in family law.

This necessitated a change from working in the city to moving to a busy family law practice to Mandurah.

Chris practices in all aspects of family law, including property settlements, child related issues, superannuation, child support, divorce and restraining orders, practising in the Family Court of Western Australia, Magistrate’s Court and Children’s Court.

Chris enjoys working in Mandurah and the lifestyle the city offers to families as he is married and has a family of his own (which comprises seven daughters and one son!)

AMANDA LISTON Position Profile

Amanda Liston was admitted as a legal practitioner in South Africa during 1998. She practised in South Africa as a conveyancer and notary public until 2001 when she immigrated to New Zealand.

Amanda undertook further legal studies in New Zealand and Australia and was admitted in the Supreme Court of New Zealand and the Supreme Court of Western Australia as a barrister and solicitor during 2008.

She joined Clement & Co Lawyers during 2008 and practises mainly in the areas of wills and deceased estates, advising on enduring powers of attorney and guardianship as well as advanced health directives.

Amanda also handles property and business settlements and does leasing work.

She has a special interest in wills and estate practice and is currently studying a Masters in Applied Law (Wills and Estates).

Amanda establishes immediate rapport with her clients who appreciate her quiet and business like manner.

Amanda lives in Mandurah with her family and enjoys community activities, travelling and camping. She is a keen musician and has a love of classical arts.
